NEW YEAR, NEW START - TIME TO TAKE CARE OF YOU. IT'S YOUR CHOICE!

How often do we begin the year with positive intentions and give ourselves unrealistic goals to achieve such as "this is it I am giving up chocolate forever and I am only going to have one glass of wine or one beer and one fry up at the local cafe - every Friday!" You may have told yourself "I am going on a permanent healthy diet and going to go to the gym every day so I get

The bright side of life

So here were are in the midst of Spring! New Year festivities and the winter sales are a distant memory. It is time to start planning the rest of your year by making choices and decisions as to what you want to do and what you are going to do. What goals have you set yourself this year? Are they realistic goals that you know you will or have already achieved? Do you tell yourself’ I can and will do it’ or do those negative thoughts creep into your head?

This year sees the launch of a new free e-book called Optimism To Beat The Credit Crunch. My business partner Dev Modi and I have written this to give you hope. To give you tools and techniques you may need to enable you to cope and believe in yourself during this changing and challenging economic climate.

Life is for living and whatever it throws at you, you will be able to handle it. By being the producer and director of your own thoughts it is your choice what you think and what choices you make in your life. One of the workshops we presented to staff at the BBC was called Body Intelligence. It was about what your body needs and wants and at the same time knowing how to take care of yourself by balancing your lifestyle. This brings up the question – are you taking care of yourself? One of my clients told me he felt useless and full of guilt because he was recently made redundant. He blamed himself and threw himself into a state of doom and gloom only thinking negative thoughts. What he didn’t realize was that it wasn’t his fault. He now knows he was not to blame and that it was time to pick himself up and get busy living for now and the future. Every time I ask how he is doing he replies ‘it’s not my fault and I feel great!!’

By looking at the positive things you do have rather than dwell on the negatives this will automatically make you feel so much better.

So however bad things may seem look at what you do have not what you don’t and put a smile on your face. It makes all the difference.

Happy Holidays everyone!

It's that time of the year again when the pressure of Christmas shopping is upon us. So how can you make life easier and make the most of what you have? With the credit crunch biting hard everyone is cutting back. It doesn't mean you can't have fun, be happy and enjoy time with your friends and family. One of the main areas I have been focusing on is Optimism. By being hopeful instead of giving up and feeling hopeless you will start to feel
